A Great Day With Our Cousins

Pictures of Allie, Kathy, and Kris's families On Saturday September 27 at breakfast at Allie & Jay's house.

Thanks for the visit Kathy and Kris It was a great time for all of us.
I'm so glad we were able to spend time together just getting to know each other better. Friday night was even better, staying up until 1:30 a.m. catching up on the happenings of each others lives, but most of all rekindling our relationships and talking about old times.

I am grateful for sisters who love me for who I am and sometimes even love me in spite of who I am. I really love you girls and I'm glad you are my sister's. Having you at my home really made me realize how much I miss you. I was sad and a little bit melancholy to say goodbye I'm going to miss you guys. Let's plan a girls trip to New York soon for any sisters that want to come. It'll be a BLAST!!

Out of town visitors!

Kris & Katie came for the weekend! We love you guys..... you really should visit more often!

Our Saturday Work Day....

First off, I want to give a big shout out to all of those who showed up to help on Saturday! I know everyone who has helped on the project so far has taken time out of their busy schedules and their busy lives to do what they have done.... I don't think that any of them had a day with nothing planned and thought 'maybe I'll go help grandma today'. They had to work it into their schedules and all of them without complaining, and I am grateful to them (so is Grandma)! A lot of work got done on Saturday and Grandma only had to go for one day without a toilet:). And even with the inconvenience of everything, I know that Mom is extremely grateful for every one's hard work and $ donations. Thank you, Thank you to all of those who have donated so far! We would not have gotten to this point without it! The hours that these 2 brothers have put in on this project can't be counted. Thanks Mike and Gary.... you are forever in our hearts:).
The floor had to be replaced along with the walls and ceiling.
Michael along with Brad and Brian wired the bathroom, complete with a receptacle, 2 can lights in the ceiling and a vanity light that actually has a light switch! What we would have given for those little luxuries 40 years ago:)!
Brian delivered the toilet, that had been donated, to Grandma's house Friday morning, (which was a crappy job in and of itself:)).... that afternoon Mike called and asked him if he would drive to Pleasant Grove to pick up the tub before closing time. So Brian dropped everything and hurried there to pick it up. Without the tub in place, they couldn't have gotten as much done on Saturday as they did. Thanks Brian!
Jayson and Jay cut sheet rock and completed the ceiling (or lid as Mike would say:)). Thanks so much guys!
Glen, Jeff & Brad finished up the walls. Paul came and helped too.... I didn't get a picture of him but we appreciate him coming by to offer help after his visit with Mickey and Minnie:). I want all of you to know how much I love you! I know Mom feels the same way.... she made it a point to thank each and every one of her workers on Saturday. It makes it so much easier to serve those who appreciate it!Thanks also to Alan Linford for cleaning up the sheet rock etc.... off of the patio. There was a lot of junk there from the first day of tear down!
Unfortunately the work isn't complete yet..... and we can still use more $$.
Thanks again everyone!
love, Kathy

Work for Mom 9/27/08

On Saturday we need to complete the following
1. Plumbing the tub and sink
2. Run new electrical
3. Install cement board around the tub
4. Insulate walls
5. Install Sheetrock (lid and walls)

We need as much help as possible, if you're not helping in the bath room you can help in the yard or around the house. I would think that all of mom's children should be there, this is the best way to stay close to your family. We need the grandkids too. One of my strongest memories is working as a family and in fact the last time I spent with dad was out in the orchard working as a family the morning he died.

If you have questions you can call me 801-636-6096

Annual Halloween Party!!

"I hope you'll come my little pretties"! he he he he
We will still be having our annual Halloween party this year. It will be on Saturday, October 25th at 5:30 at mom's house. We will have a light dinner, followed by "trunk or treating" (every family will need to bring 2 bags of candy). It would be fun to have everyone dress up...that includes adults! A "howling good time for all guys and ghouls".

Mom's Flowers!!

These are all of the flowers & balloons that were sent to grandma while she was in the hospital, she was there for so long that they all died before she got home!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

I just wanted to share a couple of fun memories that I have of mom....

~ I remember one summer afternoon it started to pour and Mom came outside and played hopscotch in the road with us. That was one fun and memorable afternoon! Everytime we get a good summer rainstorm, I think of that day many years ago!

~ One afternoon we were at Mom's visiting.... she had just gotten home from work at the Pre-school. While we were sitting there, she pulled a little clown head (like you would put in a cupcake for decoration) out of her pocket. She laughed and said "oops, I stole this from a kid at school today." Then she proceeded to tell us the story of how this little boy was playing with the clown head in school and she took it from him and put it in her pocket and then forgot to give it back to him. A few minutes later, Michael (who was about 5 at the time) came over to me and whispered "I can't believe that Grandma is a stealer...." It really shook him up thinking that Grandma would actually steal something from a little kid:). We all got a good laugh over that one.

Happy 77th Birthday Mom! I hope your day is great!!! I love you!

Three pretty good looking gals!:) Oh, and Allison and I were both wearing dresses hand made by Mom.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday From Allie

10 Things I love About Mom
1- Her chatty personality
2-Her strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
3-She is strong in spite of her rough beginnings
4-Her strong character
5-Her love of her family
6-She is one of the hardest workers I know
8-Her strong will
9-Her love of sports
10-Her loyalty and undying love for her eternal sweetheart.
To Mom From Allie
The Lord knew how strong you were before he sent you here to earth. I believe he knew you well, he knew life would be hard for you and he knew you would rise above the trials that would come your way. You surely did do that, and you did it with such grace. I know that our Heavenly Father is very pleased with you, you have been a very faithful and valiant servant. I am grateful this day for your great example and for your strong unwavering testimony. It is because of your righteous example that my own testimony is so strong. Thanks Mom for never, ever, ever giving up. I know it must have been hard to keep faith in the Lord when you lost your beloved husband, but you never got bitter. If anyone ever had the right to be bitter it was you. Instead your faith seemed to grow. I know now, that it is because you truly understood the atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and you have a personal relationship with Him. Happy Birthday I am sorry I can't be there with you, I will see you when we return in 10 days.
